Organizational Background

Growing up in the underserved communities of Chicago, surrounded by the struggles of single motherhood and welfare dependency, I witnessed firsthand the stark reality of our neighborhood's challenges. Drug use, gang violence, teen pregnancy, and high dropout rates were all too common, shaping our daily lives.

Yet, amidst these hardships, I experienced a transformative moment when my family participated in mentorship programs. These experiences opened my eyes to a world beyond our neighborhood's confines, filled with warmth, guidance, and opportunities we had never known.

As I navigated into motherhood, I resolved to break the cycle of adversity for my own children and the wider community. Reflecting on my journey, I recognize the inevitability of life's ups and downs, the journey of making both good and bad decisions.

Driven by a deep-seated desire to be the change I wish to see, I am committed to building a supportive village for our community. Through our nonprofit organization, I aspire to create a nurturing environment that fosters positivity, opportunity, and collective growth. Together, let us transform our community's narrative and build a brighter future for generations to come.
